Used Cars Are Just As Great As New Ones

Just because you may not be able afford a new vehicle, doesn't mean that you can't have a great source of transportation. Sometimes new vehicles fall outside of what the average person can reasonably afford. Instead of trying to save up a ton of money and put yourself into debt just to make an impression, you should take a look at another option. Used cars are just as good as new ones and they are much cheaper.

There is no reason for you to get so caught up into the new fad that you are willing to put aside everything you own in order to fit in with some of your peers. You should examine some of the choices you have with pre-owned vehicles. There are many different reasons why you should be willing to purchase used over new.
When some new vehicles are first driven off of the lot, even though they are fresh off the assembly line, if there are any kinks or failures that have gone undiscovered, you won't know until you have a problem or there is a recall. Even though these vehicles are often covered by the manufacturer's warranty, you need to think about the inconvenience they can cause. For starters, you don't know how long a recall is going to last. If you happen to have certain mechanical failures with the new vehicle, you may end up losing a lot of time, money and becoming frustrated by trying to get the manufacture to cover it if it is not something that is automatically covered under their standard warranty. If you have ever spent some time looking up different opinions about vehicles, then chances are you have run across some complaints about chronic issues that occur very often to new vehicles.
When you decide to purchase used cars or preciously owned vehicles, you are essentially avoiding that headache. If you do your research first and have any car you are interested in inspected by a certified mechanic before you make any purchases, you won't have to worry about any recalls or major mechanical failures. You can ride around in style and in something that is very reliable.
Used cars are also much cheaper to purchase and own. Instead of your vehicle losing up to half of its original value the moment you drive it off of the lot, your pre-owned car will still be worth the amount of money you are paying for it. In addition to saving a great deal of money on the purchase, you can also save a ton of money on maintenance and repairs. Used cars are older and their parts are much cheaper to buy. The parts are easier to find and are you are not limited to having to purchase them from the manufacturer. Auto insurance is also much easier to afford. When you factor in the cost of ownership, it is very easy to see why used cars are a much better bargain.

Which Is Better : Manual or Automatic Transmition?

There has been a debate about which type of transmission is better for years, and it has mostly revolved around fuel economy and driver control. But there are other aspects to consider, too, regarding how a certain type of transmission affects engine performance and overall driving experience. It's not easy to determine what is better, as it may simply come down to driver's preferences, but a couple of facts could help you decide which is better for your driving style.

Automatic transmission pros
Automatic transmission is more suitable for city driving. Driving in dense traffic, with lots of starts and stops is easier if you have automatic. That is because it allows you to switch through gears more easily and quickly, which is perfect for urban driving, where you have to stop at traffic lights or stop for pedestrians quite a lot.
Manual or Automatic?
It's also better for new drivers, as there is no clutch and shifting gears is less complicated, so they don't need extra focus for a third pedal or to remember which way to turn the stick to switch to a certain gear.
Automatic transmission cons
First of all, it's more expensive than manual, and can cost $500-1,000 more (RM4,000 – 5,000 more). So, if you want to save money, you will opt for manual.
Automatic transmission maintenance is also more expensive. It's more complicated to repair and mechanics charge more for it. Also, though not by a large amount, automatic provides worse fuel efficiency.
Most cars in Europe have manual transmissions, so if you ever plan on traveling to Europe and have to rent a car, you'll find it difficult to operate, as you are used to automatic.
Manual transmission pros
The most significant advantage over the automatic is that it provides better control, especially in poor road and weather conditions.
If your car needs to be towed, or you have to tow another car, it's better if it has manual transmission. Besides being cheaper, manual transmission is easier to fix and you can do some of the repairs yourself.
One of the most important benefits with manual is that the driver gets a more complete, active and satisfying driving experience.
Manual transmission cons
Manual is not for people that just want straight forward driving without too many distractions and controls to think about.
Another thing is that it can be quite a hassle to drive a manual in the city, as you could get tired easily by the fact that you have to press and depress the clutch constantly.
Manual transmission can present safety risks for inexperienced or unskilled drivers, because it requires more focus and it can lead to stalling or serious damages to the engine.

7 Seater Cars – Ford Taurus X

Ford Taurus X among 7 seater Cars
We all know that Ford was the first company to manufacture a car. But do you know a 7 seater car that is manufactured by Ford? Taurus X is a 7 seater car from Ford. This particular car belongs to a category called crossover SUV. This car was first developed by Ford Motors in USA in the year 2005. Since then, this car has been famous in its category and can comfortably seat 6-7 people. This car came into existence more because of the lack of sufficient space for a big family. People used to cram inside a small hatchback which is supposed to be only for less than 5 people. Ever since these 7 seater cars have been rolled out to streets, all the medium and big families have begun to prefer this.

Ford Taurus X which is among the few good 7 seater cars, implements a style of seating arrangement called the freestyle. In this arrangement, the 7 seats are laid out in 3 rows, such that the driver has the maximum visibility of both front and back view of road. And this arrangement also makes sure that entry and exit of the passengers are very smooth. With this arrangement, the car gets a higher H point which is always safe for the car. Ford Taurus was launched in order to replace its older competitor Taurus Station, and Taurus X did that job well.
Design Factors of Ford Taurus X
Ford Taurus X was a 7 seater car built on the concept of Ford D3. Ford Taurus X uses a Duratec V6 engine of capacity 3 liter and can output a maximum of 203 hp at 5750 rpm. Taurus implements the CVT technology (Continuously Variable Transmission) in its engine which makes it even more popular.
Taurus has many power options such as power folded seats and also provides power lift gates. Even though Taurus is no more in production against the other 7 seater cars, it comes out to be a great 7 seater car in the market even to this day. It will be a good choice if you decide to buy one, if at all you get a good deal out there in market. Having said that, it might be a little difficult for you to find a new Taurus in the Ford showroom. But for sure you'd find at least one of it somewhere in the local showroom, or in the online car store.

The engine boasts the advanced technology that enables the car to deliver astonishing fuel economy and reduced-to-nil amount of carbon dioxide emission. You can buy this car in both the diesel and petrol engine version. This 7 seater car features the turbo charged petrol engine of the capacity of the magnitude 105PS and the manufacturer has implemented 1.2 liter of TSI for the petrol engine.

The latest version of the 7 seater vehicle Volkswagen Touran definitely has the wow look and can be constituted to its newly adopted design style. You can notice the bush of horizontal lines across the entire of the body of this 7 seater car; and is a predominant factor in making the car look 'cool'. As we mentioned earlier, its the Design DNA that has been used in the redesigning work of the new 7 seater Volkswagen. With this design guidelines, the Volkswagen Touran has received a new bumper, brand new set of grill for radiator, a new bonnet for the front engine and new wings too. The shape of the front headlights have changed considerably from the previous version. The radiator of this new 7 seater is painted black. LED lights are used to give a unique look to the headlight socket of the car customized uniquely for that particular customer.
Studying the Extra Special Features of the 7 Seater Volkswagen Touran
There are two major features that needs good discussion are the Dynamic Assist Technology and the Light Assist Technology. This particular technology is used to mainly analyze the condition of the traffic and find out the amount of light required and hence the same is communicated to the headlight module. With this technology in place, the light beam automatically adjusts itself in order to accommodate various environmental conditions. With the front windscreen favoring the beam module, you can be assured that you will have a safe ride.

Among all other feature upgrades that have happened to this 7 seater car, the upgrade in terms of the interior space of the car is one of the most noteworthy ones.

Looking at the Best 7 Seater Cars For Your Growing Family

Today's growing number of 7 seater cars have to be the way to go when you need enough room to comfortably carry a growing family. Gone are the days when you would get squished in the back seat with your 2 or 3 brothers or sisters, even sharing seatbelts to make room. Today's MPV, SUVs and CUVs make it easy to carry a lot of passengers.
Once you start looking for one though, you'll realize that there are so many to choose from... when I did a quick search I found a total of 204 in the United States! Which one is going to meet your family's needs best?
I think the best way to start your search is to determine the type of car that you need regardless of the number of seats. Let's take a look at the type of cars that are available in today's car market.
One of the best known types of vehicles is the traditional family sedan which is usually a 4 door vehicle that carries usually 4 or more passengers. In 2009, the most passenger room that I could find in a sedan was 5. So today's fuel economical sedan isn't going to fit the bill with our need for 7 seats. In the past that need was filled with the station wagon but today's station wagon is the MPV (multi-passenger vehicle) better known as the mini van.
If your needs consist of a light duty MPV that is going to cart the family around to after school activities the mini van makes a good choice. Most vans will get decent fuel mileage of 20 to 25 MPG (7 to 8.75 km/L). There are even some new hybrid models that combine gas and electricity to get mileage into the 30 and 40 MPG (10.50 to 14 km/L) category. However if you're going to be driving the family around in rough weather, like snow, you may be better suited to drive a SUV or sports utility vehicle.
SUVs have gotten a bad rap as gas guzzling wrecking machines but in reality there is a need for the 4 wheel drive models in cold weather areas. You can carry 7 passengers with ease with the addition of a "way back" seat and if it starts to snow you just flip the switch to 4 wheel drive. The drawback is that they do swill some fuel. Mileage varies but you're generally in the 15 to 18 MPG (5.25 to 6.3 km/L) range. Ford as a pretty cool hybrid SUV out there but it's smaller and will only accommodate 5 passengers.
Which brings us to the newest addition of passenger vehicles; the crossover utility vehicle. As you might expect from the name, the crossover combines attributes of multiple vehicles. A great example is the Ford Edge. In looking at it, you wonder is it a big station wagon, a van... an SUV? It's all of the above and usually a great choice for the larger family. When you look at the new crossovers you'll find 3 rows of well appointed comfort keeping everyone happy on a long trip. The downside to a crossover is like a SUV, they don't get great gas mileage. Look out in 2010 for some new hybrid cars that seat 7 to show up on dealers showrooms though.
Now that you know the differences between the types of 7 passenger vehicles, hopefully you'll be able to go to your area showroom knowing exactly what to look at in 7 seater cars.

Three of the Most Fuel Efficient MPVs Currently Available

An incredibly popular choice amongst motorists with large families, or even just those that want a car with that extra element of versatility, multi-purpose vehicles, or MPVs as they are more commonly known, vary quite significantly in size. For example, larger MPVs like the Mercedes-Benz Viano (or the V-Class depending on which country you buy it in) boasts the appearance of a commercial panel van crossed with a people carrier. Others, such as Citroen's sleek five-seat offering, the C4 Picasso, look more like up-scaled takes on many of the hatchback models currently available on the market.

However, the offer of more space and a larger capacity comes at a cost; some MPVs can prove to be quite costly to run - especially with the price of fuel on the up. As a result of this, those considering the purchase of MPVs are increasingly turning their attentions towards fuel efficient models.

We've taken just a few of these popular fuel efficient vehicles and detailed their key attributes and features in a guide below.

Hyundai IX20: Okay, so it's not one of the biggest MPVs on the market - it's actually a mini MPV, but that's beside the point - the Hyundai IX20 is, simply put a great car. Whilst relatively spacious, no compromises have been made to the design of its body. Boasting a wonderful mix of sculpted straight lines and wonderful curves, it can offer a good fuel efficiency rate of 62.8 MPG (26.7 km/L). The Hyundai IX20 manages to achieve such a rate thanks largely to its 1.4 litre petrol engine.

Vauxhall Zafira Tourer: As far as MPVs go this one is a real favourite amongst families. The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer is a car that exudes a real sense of luxury and innovation. Featuring seats for up seven people, it also has extra space to spare. Meanwhile the panoramic windscreen, available as an optional extra on the SRi and SE versions of the car, introduces a relaxing calmness into what can often seem like a claustrophobic environment - especially when the kids are arguing loudly amongst themselves in the back. Although the fuel efficiency rate it offers - 53.3 MPG (22.7 km/L) - isn't quite as impressive at that offered by the Hyundai IX20, it still shouldn't be sniffed at - especially for an MPV.

Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4: Perfect for those that care about the effect they're having, as they drive, on the environment around them, the Peugeot HYbrid4 is one of a few hybrid MPVs currently available to buy. As a hybrid car it's powered by two engines - one electric motor, providing it with 37 bhp (brake horse power) and another diesel engine, giving it 163 bhp.

Peugeot 3008 hybrid4

Drivers can take advantage of the high sense of fun offered by the Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 - it's incredibly fun to drive, which can't be said of all multi-purpose vehicles. Thanks to Peugeot's Hybrid4 technology, this particular models is capable of not just offering a far more fuel efficient driving experience - with its fuel efficiency rate of 58.9 MPG (25 km/L) - it also handles smoothly and runs very quietly - something that can also benefit the environment.

Due primarily to amount of space they can offer, MPVs (or multi-purpose vehicles as they are also known) are very popular amongst those with large families. This article looks at three of the most fuel efficient MPVs currently available on the market.
